Uniform Guidelines
‘24-25 School Year Uniform Updates
Below we have attached the updated uniform policy for the ‘24-25 school year. The two points of emphasis/change for this school year are in regard to belts and shoes, so I will highlight them here.
-
For this school year, students will be required to wear a belt with their uniform pants/shorts. It is to be solid brown or black in color, with no designs or other colors on the belt. We know that some students feel more comfortable in elastic waist khakis, and we have investigated and confirmed that elastic waist with belt loops are available and are in agreement with our dress code expectations. Here is an example:
-
The second clarification is to the shoe policy. We have provided a visual guide to assist in the purchase of appropriate shoes. The basic tenet is that the shoes should be mostly neutral colored. If they are slightly accented that is ok, as you will see in the guide. If there is confusion please reach out via Jupiter with any questions.
-
Other adjustments/reminders of note:
-
No Joggers (elastic bottom)
-
Students are expected to be in clean uniforms daily. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that students arrive in a clean uniform to school. We want students to play, explore, and discover. This ultimately results in dirty uniforms, which we love! However, the following day students should arrive in clean uniforms to start that process of learning again.
-
All uniform tops MUST be purchased from Global Schoolwear. It is outside of our provider contract for families to purchase their own polos and have them embroidered. If there is a uniform piece that LAC has approved to be embroidered outside of Global Schoolwear, we will communicate that to families.
-
Students are NO LONGER required to purchase a white uniform top.
-
Black, Navy, or White Socks only
-
Dress code will be a point of emphasis this year. Please ensure that your student arrives at school in uniform and ready to begin the day. The purpose of the dress code is to eliminate distractions, teach discipline and accountability, and to focus students’ attention on the character and actions of peers, and not their outward appearance. We encourage families to take the time to assist in establishing this routine so that the freedom a uniform can provide is appreciated and established early.
Student Uniform and Dress Code
Students at Liberty Academy of Columbus wear uniforms daily. The purpose of uniforms is to reduce distractions for self and others, facilitate an increased sense of camaraderie, and elevate the tone of the school while simplifying enforcement of appropriate school attire.

Purchasing Uniforms:
Liberty Academy students will purchase all uniform tops (required to adorn embroidered school crest) and girls’ plaid pieces from Global Schoolwear.
Khaki/Navy pants, shorts, skorts, and skirts may be purchased through Global Schoolwear or locally. French Toast brand is preferred for a local option.

Compliance and Enforcement of Uniforms:
Full uniform compliance must be observed. Uniforms should be clean and in good shape (no rips or major stains) and students are expected to be in uniform while on campus unless specified otherwise. The administration is responsible for the determination of the policy. The enforcement of the policy is the responsibility of parents, administrators, faculty, and staff.
Uniforms must fit appropriately and not be adjusted for style. Growth throughout a school year is an insufficient reason for an inappropriately fitted uniform. Compliance to the following standards are required and at the discretion of administration and staff when questions arise. Where choices are given, the style or item should not draw unnecessary attention (hairstyle/hair length/hair color, hair accessories, nail polish, piercings, make-up, etc). Other notes about uniform compliance:
-
No rolling of uniform pieces.
-
Bottom hem of skirts, skorts, and shorts must be within 2 inches of the top of the knee.
-
Bike shorts should be worn under skirts without built-in shorts.
-
Shirts must be tucked in at all times while in the building.
-
No Joggers (pants with elastic ankles)

Uniform options vary by grade. Details will be listed below. A full list of school uniform options is available upon acceptance at Liberty Academy.
Liberty Academy will not institute a formal uniform or PE uniforms in at least the first year. These options will be evaluated at a later time for future implementation. At least until formal and PE uniforms are in place, students may choose any solid, neutral colored, close-toed shoe (black, brown, tan, gray, white) for daily use.
No hats, outdoor boots, or coats/jackets will be worn to class.

Spirit Days:
Liberty Academy plans to institute occasional planned Spirit Days to promote and enhance the positive culture of the school. Details will be given as these days are planned, but will mostly include wearing Liberty Academy branded T-shirts and sweatshirts.
